OU Outreach provides innovative, relevant, and quality programs and services. Our programs and services address significant educational research for health and human services and social needs that impact both the community and educational sectors. We strive to create positive change and improve the quality of life for individuals and the community.

The OU Outreach community programs have more than 60 years of experience as recognized leaders in continuing education promoting positive social change and education for individuals focused on development in their communities, workplaces, and professions.

As with any organization, PCS measures its success in many ways.  American Indian Institute (Aii)

Director Norma Neely (Potawatomi) was selected for 2017 Leadership Native Oklahoma, a program that brings together tribal leaders and future tribal leaders to identify and evaluate Native American businesses in Oklahoma. Through her leadership, AII has entered a new period of growth and is examining new development programs, product implementations, and new conference formats for the hundreds of Native Americans served each year by the department.

 National Center for Disability Education and Training (NCDET)

Director Annie Baghdayan provides services to schools, agencies, and individuals with disabilities. Last year, she earned eight new supervision contracts and a contract with Woven Life ECC. She also presented at several local conferences and events, including Autism Awareness Day at the state capitol. She recently completed the ACHE Emerging Leaders Institute and submitted an article for publication to the United Nations Chronicle.

  KGOU

KGOU continues to meet its mission of keeping people informed about important issues through engaging and award-winning content from its team of reporters. The staff and students have won awards from peer organizations including the Society of Professional Journalists, Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), Associated Press Broadcasters, Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters, Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI), and others. Over the past five years, KGOU has won 75 First Place awards in news categories, and has won the Oklahoma AP Broadcasters' Sweepstakes Award -- recognizing the most outstanding radio news operation -- eight of the last nine years.

  Southwest Prevention Center

SWPC strives to create healthy, safe communities through prevention. In 2017, SWPC’s Regional Prevention Coordinator staff provided QPR suicide prevention curriculum training to local public school systems to prepare faculty and staff to address suicide prevention and concerns within the district. As a result of its efforts, 25 students received training to build capacity to lead prevention efforts in the community and region, and 75 adults received QPR certification for suicide prevention over the course of the year.
