The Classroom Assessment KnowledgeBase is an online resource for state departments of education to use as part of their professional development efforts with districts and schools. Organized around five elements, it brings together concepts, how-to guidance, tools and resources about classroom assessment.

Task 3: Align Adjustments with Curriculum Standards, Instructional Methods, and Other Assessments

Guideline: When contemplating changes in instructional delivery, teachers need to ensure instruction aligns with the applicable state and district instructional standards. Likewise, formative assessments should be consistent with district assessment standards and policies. As questions arise, teachers should call upon district curriculum specialists for assistance.
