19th Native Diabetes Prevention Conference

February 12 - 15, 2017, Phoenix/Mesa in Mesa, AZ

The American Indian Institute at the University of Oklahoma is pleased to announce the 19th Native Diabetes Prevention Conference to be held February 12 - 15, 2017, at the Hilton Phoenix/Mesa in Mesa, AZ. The ongoing theme of this conference is "Protecting the Generations: A Lifespan Approach to Preventing Diabetes." This conference brings together tribal members from American Indian, Alaska Native, and Canadian First Nations communities, individuals representing academia, tribal health systems, public health, diabetes educators, community health representatives, and more. General sessions, workshops, and wellness activities will focus on diabetes prevention using a blend of traditional and contemporary strategies. Areas of focus include: diabetes prevention programs, diabetes prevention research, and wellness for diabetes prevention and self-management.

Continuing Education

General CEUs: The University of Oklahoma will provide 1.5 CEUs or 15 contact hours to any participants seeking continuing education. Verfication of attendance is required. No cost.
